Intandesh’s Events

  • Intandesh hosts all kinds of events such as cultural events, shows, and community discussions. Some of these cultural events include Diwali, which is a festival of lights celebrated by Intandesh members at SCU's event center, and Holi, the festival of colors in which Intandesh members come together on campus and toss colors around as a form of celebration. We host an annual Culture Show, Rangeeli Sham, where Intandesh members perform to traditional Desi styles of dance including Bhangra, Bollywood, Raas, and Classical. In additional to dancing, our show has a skit, fashion show, and singing group! Our newest event is Mock Shaadi which translates to "Fake Wedding" in English. In the event we vote on a bride and groom and host a "wedding" with all kinds of festivities such as a Baraat, food, music, and even a horse! In light of our community's values, we have occasional discussions and debriefs about issues regarding our community and how we can improve the way SCU interacts with Intandesh's members. We host many bonding events as well with our Big/Little program, off-campus excursions, and annual retreat.
